East Bay DSA will be hosting a forum to provide an overview of the two progressive tax measures that will be placed before voters on the November state ballot.
Tax policy? Sounds boring. Or does it, when we’re talking about making the wealthiest Californians pay a fairer share of taxes? Find out how this will happen thanks to the Billionaire Tax and the Education and Health Care Act, both of which will be appearing before voters this fall.
You will hear about recent progressive tax efforts—successes as well as failures—in California and how their lessons inform this year’s measures. Speakers from the campaigns will provide updates and you will have an opportunity to ask questions and get answers. You’ll also find out what you can do to pitch in.
A Zoom link will be available for those who would like to attend online. RSVP for access.
(Those in the East Bay may also attend in-person at the East Bay DSA office, 1610 Harrison St Suite D, Oakland.)
